Resourcing for a major transformation program
Terranovate was engaged to develop the in-house project management competency of a major Australian telecommunications provider with the aim of supporting a complex business-transforming systems implementation.
In addition, our brief was to ensure the availability of a high quality resource pool for the project itself.
The project began with us identifying a team of highly skilled individuals who possessed the project management skills set to match the client’s requirement while also being capable of effecting a quantifiable skills transfer as a means of ensuring a sustainable client value.
Terranovate focused on finding key individuals who not only possessed the required expertise, but who also had successfully delivered a similar project for another major global organisation.
We then set out to acquire a talent pool of individuals who could be brought to the project within relatively short timeframes. The cultural fit of the people we applied to this project was of singular importance with the indigenous workforce responding positively to the addition of new members to their team, readily adopting new ways of working, new technical skills and the enthusiasm of the “immigrant” team.
Our client acknowledged that our accurate analysis and assessment of the program challenges and opportunities, along with our extensive consulting, skills searching, matching and placement capability, were essential to the success of their large-scale transformation project.
They also endorsed the quality and openness of our communication, the purity and integrity of our processes (which led to shortened sourcing, interviewing and engagement timelines) and our commitment to cultural fit as well as skills fit.
